needrestart software package provides check which daemons need to be restarted after library upgrades, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install needrestart
needrestart is installed in your system.
Make ensure the needrestart package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep needrestart *
You will get with needrestart package name, version, architecture and description in a table
